I was alerted to this blog by my daughter who thought I might like to add a memory of Chelsea. Although I did not know Chelsea personally, I do know her mother Karen well and think the world of she and Jon. While serving in the capacity of Board Chair at the Bennion Center at the U of U, I met Karen and learned of Chelsea and her vibrant spirit and love of people. She was a natural at the Bennion Center, because she loved to help other people. We give an award in her honor every year, to commemorate her example of selfless living. A few of us felt it would be appropriate to display a portrait of Chelsea in the Bennion Center. We were able to secure a beautiful picture of Chelsea from a local photographer, and this picture was kept at my home until our next board meeting, at which time it would be presented to Karen. This is how I came to know Chelsea. As I would pass by her picture several times a day, I could somehow feel her spirit in my home. I would find myself looking into her eyes and wishing she were close. I loved the feeling in my home that her image brought. I was sad, in a way, when the time came to hand the portrait over to the Center. I know that her bright spirit lives on. I know that she continues to love and bless those around her. I am grateful to have "known" her in some small way. I express my love to Karen and Jon for their wonderful example of faith. Barbara Murdock, Switzerland, Geneva Mission
